FAQs

How do I know if my prescription has arrived at the pharmacy?

Once prescriptions have been ordered, the doctor's surgery takes 48 hours to process a prescription (excluding weekends).

How do I order a repeat prescription?

We are more than happy to order your repeat prescriptions. Our preferred way of contact is by email on hcheard.pharmacy@nhs.net with your name, date of birth and medicines required. This facility is only for repeatable medications you are currently on and cannot be used to order completely new medication.

If you have a smartphone, you are able to order your medication via the NHS Patient Access app. The app does need a one-off activation with login details obtained from your doctor's surgery.

Do I have to pay for private prescriptions?

Yes, private prescriptions are outside the scope of the NHS, thus all private prescriptions have to be paid for and the cost is dependent on the medication prescribed and the quantity. This applies to all age groups.

Do you deliver medication?

No, we do not deliver medication as a rule, but over the COVID period, we can make arrangements for shielding patients, patients at risk and emergencies.

Do I need to book an appointment for travel vaccines?

Generally we can vaccinate on the same day without an appointment. However, we do request that you email us your travel itinerary in advance to hcheard.pharmacy@nhs.net with your dates of travel, length of stay and countries visiting.

What time are you open until on a Friday?

We are open as normal from 9am-7pm, even in the winter months. Thus, we can help patients needing medication or advice when Shabbat comes in early.

Is there parking available?

H.C Heard were fortunate enough to arrange a Blue Badge disabled parking bay adjacent to the pharmacy, on The Crest, NW4 with a 30 minute only waiting allowance.
